Unwelcome is a short documentary film that focuses on the discrimination faced by individuals experiencing homelessness in Phoenix, Arizona.

 

 

Title: Unwelcome – A Short Documentary on Homelessness in Phoenix, Arizona
Description: Through the exploration of the downtown area of the city, the testimonies of Gary and Diane serve as an indictment on the city of Phoenix and its inhabitants. Gary is an Arizonan citizen experiencing homelessness since 2011 and he is a user of the Human Services Campus. Diane is a Caseworker at Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development in Phoenix. Diane is also a Documentary Photographer.

About Carlos Perez-Rojas

Carlos is a Venezuelan Human Rights worker that just completed a Master's in Social Justice and Human Rights at Arizona State University under a Fulbright Foreign Program Scholarship. Carlos' work is focused on intersections of oppression and his previous experiences include LGBTQ issues in his native Venezuela and housing for communities in extreme poverty conditions. Currently, Carlos is working on issues of homelessness in Arizona.
