Liz Cantú

Liz was born in McAllen, Texas. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Master of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M University. Liz moved to Arizona in August 2007 to pursue a doctoral degree in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication. Growing up on the border between the U.S. and Mexico has encouraged Liz to explore the richness, complexities, and diversity of the borderlands. Her research interests include the construction of Latinidad in United States media; transnational flow of cultural industries between the U.S. and Mexico; and immigration issues.
