Centrally located in the heart of the city, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the ninth busiest airport in the United States. With a $90 million dollar daily economic impact, some 1,200 aircraft fly through the airspace above the Phoenix suburbs on any given day.

About Bryon Darby

D. Bryon Darby was born and raised in the high desert mountains of northern Utah. Initially trained as a graphic designer, Darby received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Utah State University in 2001 before switching his primary focus to photography. After working for most of a decade as a commercial artist in the advertising and editorial fields, Darby went on to receive a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Arizona State University in 2011. Darby's work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and internationally including recent exhibitions at the International Photography Festival in Pingyao, China and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville. His work is held in many private and public collections including the Tempe Center for the Arts and the City of Phoenix Portable Works Collection for which he was awarded a public art commission in 2009. Currently, Darby is an Assistant Professor of Photo Media at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.)
